Helium balloons are quite fun and entertaining and essential to all kid's parties. Although we pretty much buy helium balloons all the time, we hardly ever do a helium tank purchase.  It can be very cost effective to purchase helium tank yourself and fill your balloons in an very inexpensive manner. Especially if you have to drive you kids from the party store back to the house with 25 balloons and screaming kids, at such instances you will be thankful for your helium tank purchase.

Helium also causes your voice to change and you will find your kids might be inhaling the helium to have fun at the party you are hosting.  Although if done is very small amount, it will not have much adverse issues, inhaling a lot of helium can cause brain damange. Inhaling helium in place of oxygen deprives the bloodstream of the oxygen it needs to take to the brain.  This is something a prent should always take into consideration before making a helium tank purchase from your local party store.

Buying or renting a helium tank, whether it is disposal or not, is a snap. Many stores have them and the prices will vary depending on how big you need it and what it will be used for. The price of helium keeps going up so the prices of a helium tank can be more than expected. It does not make economical sense to buy more helium than what is needed for your balloons. Keep in mind that helium in the tank is highly compressed and when it is transferred to the balloon it will not be and will take up a lot more space.  Before making your helium tank purchase, figure out how much you will need and then make your decisions accordingly.

One thing to be careful if you order helium tank online when you make your helium tank purchase is, online retailers will sent larger helium tanks unfilled.  You will then have to goto your local retailer and have it filled.  This causes extra time and energy to be spent after you have made your purchase.  It is easier to get it all done locally.  Also helium prices are competetive all over the US so there is not really much advantage to be gained by buying helium online.
