Helium For Balloons
Helium was discovered on the sun long before it was on earth. Pierre-Jules-Cesar Janssen, a French astronomer
had seen a yellow line around the sun’s spectrum. Another astronomer Sir Norman Lockyer, being English knew that
the yellow line could not be made by any element known to man at that time. (Late eighteen hundreds) Mr. Lockyer
named it helium because it comes from the Greek God of the Sun, Helios.
Helium balloons by the law of buoyancy. They are like a pool of air. The helium for balloons displaces a certain
amount of air, such as an example; the empty bottle displaces a certain amount of water. When the balloon plus the
helium that is in it is lighter than the air it displaces it will float up into the air, or can be tied down.
In today’s world helium balloons have many different uses. They can be used for all kinds of parties,
advertising, some weathermen will use them to analyze weather conditions. Some say the blimps are a form of helium
balloons as it does use helium to keep it afloat. Helium for balloons might be made out of foil or latex and can be
transparent, opaque or translucent.
Balloons have been around for centuries. In the old days, before latex and foil, they were made of animal
stomachs, bladders, etc. they were mostly just filled with water and were used as toys for the children. One only
has to use their imagination to find uses helium for balloons. They can be used at weddings to form arches, or even
fall from the ceiling. Many will use them for centerpieces. There are people that know just how to design with
these balloons to make that special day special.
Some will even use helium for balloons at office parties; they will put names of the new person or one that is
retiring. Some will have different designs on them or they can just be plain and boring. It is becoming more and
more popular to use this type of balloons at fundraisers for schools or a local charity and religious groups. The
list is long and helium for balloons is being used more and more.

note attached to it. They will deliver the balloon on the day that is designated. This adds to the profits for the
