Helium Balloon Tank
Helium was discovered on the sun long before it was on earth. Pierre-Jules-Cesar Janssen, a French astronomer
had seen a yellow line around the sun’s spectrum. Another astronomer Sir Norman Lockyer, being English knew that
the yellow line could not be made by any element known to man at that time. (Late eighteen hundreds) Mr. Lockyer
named it helium because it comes from the Greek God of the Sun, Helios.
Helium only covers about zero point five percent of the earth’s atmosphere. As it is not gravitationally bound
to the earth, it just floats around in space. It is replaced constantly with the decay of radioactive elements in
the earth’s crust. Helium is found in natural gas deposits usually in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. Helium is mainly
used to inflate blimps, party balloons and tanks. These helium balloon tanks are great for large parties. No more
blowing up the balloons by mouth. It can also be used for an inert shield for arc welding, and supersonic wind
tunnels.
Remember helium is odorless, colorless and tasteless gas and it will not combine with any other gas. If inhaled,
helium will make you talk like Donald Duck, which many people enjoy doing when they are stuck with blowing up
balloons. Helium balloon tank is available in different sizes and some are disposable. They come with a balloon
filler nozzle or valve. When filling the balloon with a helium balloon tank, just place the opening of the balloon
over the nozzle. Then release that helium by turning the handle, this opens the valve. It then fills up the balloon
and you can tie it off and go to the next one.
The disposable helium balloon tank works wonders for birthday parties, as many people like to watch the balloons
be filled. Most are very lightweight and some have two handles for easy carrying. They can fill about fifty or so
balloons, depending on the size of the balloons and what they are made of. When you are done with the helium
balloon tank it is best to get rid of it or you can get it refilled when needed.
Be sure to follow the manufactures instructions of getting rid of the helium balloon tank. They are pretty
simple to follow and it will be safer. If you want to refill the tank, take it to a place that has helium and they
will fill it for you. These will cost about fifty dollars.
Many people will rent a helium balloon tank. It is just for one party; probably a year and they do not see the
need to own one. Many will go online to find a store close by to rent a helium balloon tank. Most will have a size
chart to determine what size of tank will be needed for the amount of balloons you want to blow up. If you do not
know how to use the tank, someone will walk you through the steps. Just be sure to return it or they will charge
you every day from the day you said you would return it.
